Biography
I started my career at the University of Texas-Austin graduating in 1994 with a Bachelors of Science in Advertising. I then worked in the advertising industry for five years before going to law school in 1999 and graduating in 2002 with my Juris Doctorate from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. I moved to New Braunfels in 1998, with the father of my children, Ben Jones, where I experienced one of many floods that would happen in New Braunfels, losing our home 3 months after we moved here and then again in the 2002 flood (while I was studying for the Bar Exam). We ended up divorcing when our children were in middle school, but had a great co-parenting relationship until we lost him unexpectedly in 2025.
My grandfather, who was a U.S. Army Colonel and fought in WWII, instilled in me early that being a lawyer, allows you to "Fight for people who can't fight for themselves." Through my career, I have worked and completed more than 100 jury trials, the majority in felony court, and 8 Family Law cases involving divorce, modification of custody, or termination of parental rights. Eight trials may not seem like a big number, unless you know that in the entire State, less than 1% of custody trials go to a jury.
I married my husband Charlie Motz V in 2018, and he currently serves as the Elected Constable for Comal County Precinct 1, and has been in law enforcement almost 30 years. He is currently attending Texas A&M pursuing a Master Degree in Public Administration.
Over my career, we have expanded our services from criminal and family law, to probate and estate planning. I have developed an amazing team of associates and support staff so that we can truly be a full service law firm. I was proud to purchase the firm's final home at 175 Comal St. in 2024 and look forward to working with your family to help you through any challenges you face.
